Photographer: David Richman, Edmonds
My name is David B. Richman and I am a retired college professor and former Curator of the Arthropod Museum (New Mexico State University, Las Cruces). I retired from the university in 2011, after 28 years. I received my Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Florida in Gainesville after I finished at the University of Arizona in Tucson. I have always had an interest in birds, as well as most organisms, and because of my association with the various university systems I have been able to travel a bit to Puerto Rico, much of Mexico and Trinidad, as well as over much of the Southwest and Southeast United States. I am married to Lynda Goin, whose parents were also biologists, and we have two daughters and a foster daughter. We moved to Edmonds, WA, in October of this year to be closer to our older daughter, Julia, and our grandson. I was able to take part in the Christmas Bird Count in Mukilteo this year.
