Spencer Island- Tuesday, October 1, 2013

There were lots of ducks to be seen in the ponds, and then as we walked the road east of the ponds we were finding swallows, dowitchers  and Yellow-legs.  The best sighting of the day was seeing the Great Horned Owl.

Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary – Tuesday, November 12, 2013
It is exciting to see the birds up close and so good for beginner bird watchers to get to learn the bird species, especially for ducks that are usually far away. Seeing Wood Ducks up close and enjoying each individual color in the feathers is a treat and good for great photos. Our bird of the day was a White-Throated Sparrow feeding on the path.  We also went to Boundary Bay and saw the short-eared Owls.
