 Camano Island – Tuesday, May 3, 2016
The best bird of the day was the Red-necked Phalarope seen on Eide road.  This was probably a lifer for several of our birders and certainly not a bird that we often see.  We watched the many shorebirds with the phalarope until a peregrine Falcon swooped down for dinner.  The pond was empty until four sandpipers flew across only to be chased by a Merlin.  The event of the day was celebrating the 100th birthday of Judy’s mother Imogene.  We were very pleased that she wanted to go birdwatching on her 100th birthday and thanks for sharing the sparkling cider with all of the group.
