A nice collection of waterfowl and shorebirds highlighted a trip to Maxwelton, Deer Lagoon, Crockett Lake and other hotspots around the southern half of Whidbey Island. Species included Surf and Black Scoter, Common Loon, Western Grebe, American White Pelican, Black Oystercatcher, Pectoral Sandpiper, Baird’s Sandpiper, Common Murre and Marbled Murrelet.
