Birding: Discovery Park

Photo: Yellow-rumped Warbler by Mick Thompson

Meet at 6:00 AM at the Quil Ceda Village Walmart lot west of Marysville (I-5 exit 200). Park away from the store, to the east, near Quil Ceda Blvd. (next to I-5).  Or, meet the group at 7:15 AM at the North parking lot for Discovery Park. The park covers 534 acres on the shores of Puget Sound, with a variety of habitats (forest, meadow, beach), great views, and a bird list of 270 species seen. This will be a walking trip, but rather than do one long walk, we’ll explore trails near one parking area, and then drive to another parking lot and walk in that area. Pack a lunch.

Trip leaders: Karen Morse (919-260-9018) and Robin Melvin (206-369-4549)

Later Event: June 18
