Birding: Everett Sewage Lagoon/Smith Island

Photo: Ring-necked Duck by Mick Thompson

What could possibly top a good day of birding? How about at a sewage lagoon! If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out - many species, as well as numbers, of ducks should be present, as well as potential shorebirds. It’s a good place to practice your gull ID! We’ll visit the north and south sides, as well as the Langus Riverfront Trail.

We will meet at the Quilceda Walmart in Marysville off of I-5 at 8:00 AM, and carpool to the small lot on 4th street in between the two lagoons. If you’d like to meet us at the lagoon lot, you’re more than welcome.

Dress for the weather, and the potential of walking a mile at each site.
