There were loads of waterfowl to be seen at Kiket Island, Similk Beach and March Point under cloudy and partly sunny skies. They included 1000+ Brants, a single raft of 300+ Buffleheads, Long-tailed Ducks, White-winged Scoters, three loon species and a number of Red-breasted Mergansers. At Similk Beach, we watched at least 20 Wilson’s Snipe fluttering among the cattails. Rough-legged Hawk, Black Oystercatcher, Orange-crowned Warbler, Purple Finch and Rufous Hummingbird were other nice finds.
