The wet pastures of the Stillaguamish Valley and the marshes of the Port Susan Bay Conservancy provided their usual high numbers of waterfowl, shorebirds and raptors, alhough misty rain in the morning and breezy conditions in the afternoon made for much birding by car rather than extended walking. Thousands of Snow Geese were still near the Conservancy, while other highlights included Wilson’s Snipe, Long-billed Dowitcher, Virginia Rail, Northern Shrike, Rough-legged Hawk, Peregrine Falcon and Common Yellowthroat..
