Rex Guichard led a Valentine’s Day tour of the Everett Sewage Lagoons, Spencer Island and Langus Riverfront Park. Ducks were aplenty, especially hundreds of Northern Shoveler, Northern Pintail, Lesser Scaup, Green-winged Teal and Mallard. Two Virginia Rail grunted along the way, while shorebirds included Killdeer, Black-bellied Plover, Greater Yellowlegs and Dunlin. There also were several Northern Harrier, Bald Eagle, and Red-tailed Hawk. Some of the group continued on to Everett’s Marine Park, where they saw about 170 Canvasback.
