Birding: Lake Ballinger

Photo: Bufflehead by Mick Thompson

Please join Academia Latina and the Pilchuck Audubon Society for a visit to Lake Ballinger in Mountlake Terrace on Saturday, July 20th. We will meet at 1:00 PM near the boat ramp and swimming hole. This is not our standard time for outings because we want it to be warm enough to go into the water. The address is 23600 Lakeview Dr. Here are directions. From Pacific Highway/State Route 99 turn east on 228th Street SW (from southbound 99 it is a left turn).

We will see what birds we can find and hopefully dip our toes into the pond. We have seen lots of geese, ducks, and other water birds there in previous years. Bring your bathing suit, water, and a picnic lunch for your party. Also bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. No dogs.
